Essay #4
What do Spiderman, Batman, and Wonder Woman have in common? They’re all heroes; people who put their own life at risk to place others before themselves. Some heroes are well known and loved, and others remain hidden and largely unknown. King Christian X was just such a unknown hero. To his people and nation, King Christian X was an admirable leader. He inspired loyalty, was a humble leader, and he was a knowledgeable man.
The first reason king Christian X is an admirable leader is because he inspired loyalty. In the book, Number The Stars, it says “It is true, any danish citizen would die for king christian, to protect him.” He was also loyal to his country, so his people emulated his strength of character. Lastly, he didn’t give up, even after all hope was lost and everything was taken away from him, he still stood strong with his country.
The second reason King Christian X is a admirable leader is because he was humble. He always did what was best for his people, not what was best for himself. Also, instead of fighting nazi control and reattaining control of his country, he immediately surrendered in fear of losing the lives of his people. ------------------ he gave up his crown for his people.
The third and final reason King Christian X is an admirable leader is because he is a knowledgeable man. But one of the biggest sacrifices he had to make was blowing up his navy, he knew if he didn’t do something about it they would get ahold of it and use it for their bad intentions. Lastly, he did the right but hard thing.
King Christian X is an admirable leader for three reasons, he inspired loyalty, he was a humble leader, and he was a knowledgeable man. It matters to the citizens of denmark because if he wasn’t king humble or knowledgeable they would be in ruins.
